First Aid & Fire Warden Training Course

These would normally be two separate courses. We have managed to present these on the same day (to save you costs), but it is a long day of training.

£599.00 + Vat at your venue for up to 8 persons.

The training venue will require the following:

  • A suitable inside room for theory training that will be uninterrupted (with a power point)
  • ccess to welfare – toilets, running water, suitable temperature, etc

The candidate(s) should:

  • Possess the necessary level of mental fitness and learning ability required
  • Possess a reasonable degree of physical fitness

MHTO Training will provide:

  • The Trainer/Examiner
  • All training materials, handouts
  • Projector, screen, videos, presentation
  • Training equipment

HSE EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK (EFAW)

The new Health & Safety Executive (HSE) regulated Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course teaches the basics of first aid assessment and treatment in the workplace, so that casualties can be looked after safely until professional emergency care arrives.

Who is this course aimed at?

Anyone requiring a basic, one day first aid course.

What will I be doing on the course?

On completion of training, successful candidates should be able to:

  • understand the role of the first-aider including reference to:
    – the importance of preventing cross infection.
    – the need for recording incidents and actions.
    – use of available equipment.
  • assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.
  • administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure).
  • administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • administer first aid to a casualty who is choking.
  • administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding.
  • administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.

provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters).

What can I do after the course?

Become an appointed person in the workplace, save lives in general.

Additional information:

Valid for 3 years. The HSE recommends annual refresher training.

Fire Marshal

The Fire Marshal and Safety awareness course is designed to give basic instruction and safety awareness in the event of fire.
It is suitable for all personnel which lends itself to a safer work environment.
The course follows a basic format which allows for interaction between tutor and student.

Course Content

  • Understanding the nature of fire.
  • The 3 elements of fire.
  • How fire is spread.
  • The 5 classes of fire.
  • Types of extinguishers.
  • Uses of each type of extinguisher.
  • Recognition and identification of equipment.
  • Other fire fighting equipment.
  • Actions on discovering a Fire.
  • Role and responsibility of the Fire Marshal.

Course Title:

First Aid Appointed Person (Emergency First Aid at Work) HSE Approved – 6hrs.
Fire Warden – 3 hrs.
